Couple and their young son found dead in Mexico City bedroom Airbnb
DELANO, Calif. (KBAK) – A Californian family asks for help to bring home three of their loved ones who died suddenly while on vacation in Mexico.
Jose Nunez Jr., his wife Maria Nunez and their 3-year-old son Jayden Nunez were on vacation in Mexico to visit family members. The three were staying at an Airbnb when they were all found dead in the same room.
According to Jose’s aunt, Trini Jacobo, the other family members staying at the Airbnb were not injured.
Jacobo says there are too many questions to answer, leaving her and her family with no idea of the death of the Nunez family.
“They are still in Mexico and they are going to carry out an autopsy and tackle the cause of their death definitively. So we are not sure of the details at this time, ”she said.
Jacobo says family and friends are in shock and the couple were one of the nicest people you can ever know. She says grieving her beloved nephew won’t be easy, but her memories will help her through.
“Just a great family. Both are very family oriented. Jose is probably – honestly, not just because he’s my nephew – but he’s one of the best dads I’ve ever known, ”she said. “In love with his family. He still hugs them, still holds them.
Right now, the family’s main goal is to bring their loved ones back to California, Jacobo says.
“We’re not worried about anything else at the moment. We want our loved ones to come back to the United States. We want to know what happened to them, of course, but… right now we’re focused on getting Jose, Maria and Jayden home, ”she said.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help raise funds for transportation and funeral expenses. He raised nearly $ 12,000.
The couple is also survived by four other children.
Airbnb called the deaths a “horrible tragedy” in a statement and said it was investigating what happened. The ad on Airbnb was disabled during the investigation.
